As a performer, Mike Maimone leaves it all on the stage. Sean Moeller of Daytrotter said he “goes from a tame resting heart rate, living beneath a harvest moon, to pure adrenaline — instantaneously. He goes from zero to a hundred quicker than most.”
Vern Hester of the LGBT newspaper Windy City Times said, “The man has the keyboard style of Fats Waller and Jerry Lee Lewis combined, and a vocal style that clearly recalls Tom Waits and Warren Zevon. With him bouncing up and down, smacking the keys and growling like a jolly puppet who just lost its strings, it was pretty hard not to get engulfed in all the fun he was having.”
Maimone has averaged over 100 tour dates each year since 2007 as a solo artist, with his band Mutts, and as keyboardist for acts including Company of Thieves, Los Colognes, Jon Walker of Panic at the Disco, and Bailiff. Tour milestones include playing Lollapalooza, Sasquatch Music Fest, Riot Fest, and Last Call with Carson Daly.
